The Public Council of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation was set up in Feb 2006 for jointly discussing with Russian and international public organizations problems related to the activities and development prospects of nuclear companies, to nuclear and radiation safety, to social security in territories hosting nuclear facilities. The Public Council comprises representatives of federal public organizations, members of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, experts and managers of scientific organizations.
The Public Council was designed as a public forum for a dialogue among the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy, the expert community and NGOs. |

WNA arose on the foundations of the Uranium Institute, established in London in 1975 as a forum on the market for nuclear fuel.
